Paired learning - Max Povinelli, Year 13

Dr Challoner’s has a large Sixth Form of over 400 students, predominantly due to the fact that the vast majority of Year 11s continue their education with us. In addition to these students we also welcome around 40 new students, from a range of schools, who quickly settle in and readily form a single cohesive student body with those students who have continued into the Sixth Form from Year 11. In order to accommodate this many students we have recently completed a new and impressive Sixth Form Centre which features outstanding study facilities, the Milton Library and a branch of Café Africa.

We offer a broad and balanced curriculum that will assist in equipping Sixth Form students with the skills and understanding required to enter either employment or Higher Education. We welcome students who are willing to work hard and contribute directly to school life. We look forward to them fulfilling their potential regardless of whether they are Oxbridge candidates, capable of attaining multiple A*s, or hard-working students capable of attaining three sound grades at A Level.

Some students, both internal and external, will inevitably find the transition to A Level challenging in one or more subjects. Challoner’s staff have a wealth of experience supporting students making this transition, regardless of their background. Since we are a popular choice for students the school is invariably oversubscribed and so we have a clear admissions policy which is available to view on our website.
