On 4 February 2025, students at Dr Challoner’s Grammar School came together to support the charity Charlie Charges On, by taking part in a special non-uniform day. The event aimed to raise both awareness and vital funds for the charity, which supports children with complex medical needs and their families. Students and staff were encouraged to swap their usual school uniforms for their own choice of clothing in exchange for a small donation. Many took this opportunity to wear something meaningful, with some sporting the charity’s colors and others opting for t-shirts with inspirational messages on them.
The day was filled with excitement, as everyone took part in the fundraising efforts. Throughout the week, various activities were organized to further support the cause. Bake sales, raffle draws, and even a fun lunchtime challenge saw students getting involved in creative ways to contribute.
The student leadership team played a key role in organizing the event, ensuring that every donation went directly to Charlie Charges On. By the end of the day, the school had raised an impressive total of over £2000, all of which will help Charlie Charges On to continue their mission of providing support and resources for children with complex medical conditions.
