With the GHS Ten Mile National Time Trial being Sam Henning’s first participation in a competitive cycling event, he was hoping for a result landing him somewhere in the middle of the results table. Yet this was not the case. Sam managed to win in the Under 16s category with an astonishing time of 21 minutes and 34 seconds, putting him in a state of both shock and joy. It was not all plain sailing however, as a challenging course full of ninety-degree turns put Sam on edge; yet he was able to just manoeuvre himself in order to stay on his bike, and on top.

Not only this, but the fact he had only started cycling seriously in June added to the shock factor. This has put Sam in high hopes for future events. With plans to venture to Italy, Belgium and France along with joining a new team, Sam’s cycling career looks solidly set for the upcoming year.
