Over the half term break the Sports team took the senior Football squads,1st and 2nd XI, plus the under14 and under 15 Tennis squads to Vilamoura in Portugal for some 'warm weather' training. There were 47 students and 5 staff in total.
They stayed and trained at the exclusive Browns Sports and Leisure Club which has a FIFA size training pitch as well as indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts and gymnasium and is used regularly by the England Rugby Team and several International Football teams. The students were given some expert training as well as time to relax and enjoy the pools, gym, steam room, jacuzzi and even an ice bath! The 1st and 2nd XI teams also enjoyed fixtures against local Portuguese opposition with both teams winning a game and losing one.
The students had the opportunity mid week to take part in a Grand Prix at the local Karting track which was fantastic fun and Caulum Hardie and Jordan Trafford took the chequered flag in 1st place!
