Engineering has always been a popular choice for students at Challoners and it was great to see a high turnout at the first meeting of the new Engineering Society held in the LIC yesterday.
Students were able to sample a range of engineering experiences as Year 13’s exhibited their Engineering related Extended Projects. There was the latest Dyson vacuum, with a number of turbine heads, which students could take apart to find out exactly how they worked. They also had on show videos of Bloodhound, the British project attempting to make a car capable of speeds up to 1000mph!
The Society aims to provide opportunities for students to find more about Engineering at degree level and as a career through talks, visits and interactive activities and would welcome any help from parents who could provide opportunities in this area. Please contact email@example.com.
