Waitrose Human Resources Manager Dave Howe visited recently to give Year 12 Business students an insight into their Recruitment and Selection processes.

The students had written and polished their CV's and completed the standard online questionnaire for applicants which was scored to determine suitability for employment at Waitrose as a partner, not just an employee, as workers all part own the company. They were then invited to a one hour Group Interview. Based on the results of this initial selection process, two candidates, Jack Butler and Michael Woolford, were chosen for further individual interviews and potential employment. These students would have been offered jobs if this had been a real situation.

The whole process was filmed so the class could discuss the interviews in detail as part of their recruitment module for Business Studies.
