Writing: Thomas Bailey (Year 12)
In a joint visit with DCHS, Year 12 went to Brunel University to learn a little about what life could be like after finishing at Challoner's. In the morning we attended three different talks about potential careers from a wide choice, including law, architecture, engineering, finance, journalism, PR, IT and advertising. These talks were given by people in different stages of their career (some still at university) and many were given by Old Challoner's. They were useful in giving a glimpse at what life could be like in the careers, and also gave us an opportunity to ask questions.
The afternoon was based around our more immediate concern: the UCAS process. Mr Colquhoun gave a talk about the actual practicalities of filling out the UCAS application and then there was a talk by a Brunel admissions tutor about writing a good personal statement.
Overall the day was informative and has allowed us to make a better informed decision about the next stage in our lives.
