27th August 2013
On Friday 26th of July, four boys set out to undertake an impressive challenge: a relay swim of the English Channel, in an effort to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. The team, all members of Chesham Swimming Club, consisted of Jake Bulgin, Jasper Copp, Alastair Dawson and Marcus Johansson. Jake and Jasper are starting Sixth Form at Challoner's this year, while Alastair and Marcus are old boys from Challoner's and Berkhamsted respectively.
The crossing was completed in the brilliant time of 11 hours, 54 minutes and 30 seconds: one of the fastest relay crossings so far this year. At the time of writing, the team have raised almost £9000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
We congratulate the boys on this tremendous achievement, and the significant impact their efforts will have on the lives of other children. If you would like to donate, their giving page can be found by clicking here.
