The Friends of DCGS (Registered Charity No: 310621) have provided invaluable support for the school for over 30 years. At the start of each academic year, parents of new boys are warmly invited to join the Friends and take part in (and preferably help organise!) their ambitious programme of events. This runs throughout the year and enables parents to socialise with each other and play an active role in the life of the school.
Recent fundraising by the Friends has generated the finance necessary to equip the Drama and Music Studio with state-of-the-art technical lighting and sound equipment, refurbished one of the Science laboratories and provide both minibuses.
We are always keen to welcome new members to the Friends. If you are interested, do get in touch with Aileen Reuter, our firstname.lastname@example.org
A light-hearted gathering to welcome the new year 7 parents to the school. With dinner and games, parents have an opportunity to mingle with other parents from their son's form, as well as their form tutor.
This is very popular evening attended by parents, a few teachers, and a few Sixth Formers who were all ready for an evening quizzing, and the occasional heated debate over an answer.
A huge event with stalls, delicious food and all sorts of games and activities for all to enjoy. This is one of the highlights of the year, and money raised at the Fayre allows the Friends to make a significant contribution to the school. This years Fayre takes place on 2nd December from 11-3pm.
A great fun, informal evening which provides the chance to dance the night away to a live band. Counterfeit ABBA went down a storm in 2015 and in 2016 TwoTone ensured the dance floor was packed as they entertained all with music from the 60a through the decades to the present day. This year was a Bollywood theme night. Plans are already afoot to make the 2018 Summer Party another roaring success.
This is a great way to support the school and please see the the attached document for the latest monthly winners.
