Students from across the school gathered in New Court at break time today, in order to purchase something from Mr Sharpe and 10 Newman’s world famous charity cake sales, with money this time being raised for Macmillan Cancer Support. This time round they managed to raise an outstanding total of just under £470, all in the short 15 minutes they had. Once again 10 Newman and Mr Sharpe managed to sell out all of their cakes, with the form proudly beating their total of £329 from last year.
This latest effort means that Mr Sharpe's total charity fundraising target of £1000 has now been broken, thanks to the numerous cake sales, marathons and other charitable activities for which he has worked extremely hard. On this morning similar events took place all around the country in order to celebrate the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning, with this year's event raising over £2 million so far. All money raised has been donated to Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity that supports cancer patients and has played a huge role in helping them by providing carers and specialist medical support.
