Standing with a spaceman

Last Friday, 20 students from Year 8 had an exciting opportunity to go to the City of London School in order to hear a lecture on space by Dr Robert Crouch.

The day was extremely exciting and we left Challoner’s at 1:45, taking the train down to Barbican Station. From there it was a short walk to the City of London School. Soon afterwards, we arrived at the school where Dr Crouch gave his lecture.

In his lecture he emphasised the importance of perseverance, citing the fact that he had applied to NASA for 56 years before finally getting on the space shuttle as an expert. He also emphasised the importance of believing in yourself.

Finally, we all got the opportunity to take a photo with him, before heading home on a packed commuter train.
