Over the course of half term, The Arkwright Scholarships Trust held several ceremonies to award their prestigious engineering scholarships. Four Year 12 students - Charles Manning, Jay Patel, Benjamin Raven and Daniel Chapman - were lucky enough to accept it this year. The event was held in Central London, with an opportunity beforehand for us to chat with our sponsors and other scholars.
Following that we were ushered in for the main event. Each scholar was called up in turn, and walked across the stage to accept their award as a brief statement was read out about them, telling us something about them and chronicling some of their achievements. The scholarships take students through Sixth Form and provide connections, opportunities and funds; and indeed some members of Year 11 have already begun the process of applying for next year.
Good luck to those applying at the moment and well done to those who won scholarships this year!
