As part of their Sports Leaders Program, a group of Sixth Form students organised and ran a football tournament this week, with nine teams of boys and girls from five primary schools attending. Organising such a tournament is a component of the Sports Leaders award, available for Year 12s, which aims to promote and develop leadership skills through the use of sport.

The round-robin matches were competitive yet fun, and there was great praise for the students in charge. Elangeni School were winners in the boys' tournament, whilst St Mary's School from Gerrards Cross came top of their group for the girls. All schools were invited back to the cricket tournament next summer, where more Sports Leaders will be able to put their skills to the test.
