To finish the term, Jon Robinson came to school to deliver a writing workshop to Year 7. Robinson started writing seriously when he was fifteen, and has written stories for children and for adults. In 2013, published his debut novel Nowhere, the first book in a trilogy of the same, which tell the story of 100 teenagers mysteriously imprisoned, having to figure out how to escape and what crimes they have committed.
Robinson gave a presentation and a short lesson on writing books. He also gave us challenges, based on the 'story diamond': Ideas, Planning, Characters and Writing. This was followed by a session to ask questions. Most of us were keen to know more about the next book after Nowhere and Anywhere: Somewhere, which will be published in July. At lunch we had the opportunity to get one of his books signed - there was a queue!
