The Art and Graphics team put on a wonderful exhibition to showcase the work completed by the students over the past year which was a great success.
It was then quickly back to business for the A Level Graphics students who have to start work on their next projects. The team welcomed Stewart Cobb, a freelance Graphic Designer who works with 2D and 3D graphic design into school to help guide the students and they were impressed to learn that his latest work is the design and re-branding of the Formula One race track at Silverstone. He opened by sharing sound knowledge and advice in an informal lecture where students has the opportunity to question Stewart about his design. They learnt about processes and the pressure of tight timescales and Stewart explained the skills he had developed which contributed to his success in his chosen field.
This experience gave the students a valuable insight into the industry and really helped them to focus on their new projects which are closely related to one of the projects Stewart has worked on in the past. He has agreed to revisit on completion of the projects to review their responses and to reveal his solutions.
