We are delighted to announce that 25 students have received offers from Oxford or Cambridge Universities this year. The students, mainly from the first year of the school’s co-educational Sixth Form, heard the news earlier this month. Their offers come as the culmination of a great deal of hard work and perseverance. Seven of the students, including five girls (who are going to study Economics, Geography, Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Engineering), joined the school 18 months ago to begin their A Level studies. And as well as these students, many are receiving offers from very competitive courses at a wide range of excellent universities, both in the UK and overseas.

All the teachers were so willing to help with personal statements and hold mock interviews to prepare us for the application process. It’s a really supportive environment and one which definitely helped me receive the offer from Cambridge.

Headmaster David Atkinson said, 'It is always a pleasure to talk to students about their futures, and the aspirations shown by so many of our young people to achieve their best are illustrated in these offers. They have worked extremely hard over many months to achieve the academic standards required, and they should be very proud of themselves. The destinations of our students show that they are very well placed to make a significant contribution to our society in the future.'

Whether it's been tailoring my personal statement or the mock interview, Challoner’s has helped me every step of the way.
